Registration
I am registered as a Counsellor under the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) - with Registered Membership.

I believe in continuous professional development and endeavour to keep myself up to date with evidence based recommendations (including NICE guidelines) and latest research to better my practice.

I am also currently undertaking a Practitioner Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. I love learning about human behaviour and looking for ways to better be able to assist people with their difficulties.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is always a big concern when it comes to therapy and sharing personal information.
At Therapyish, my confidentiality agreement with every client is that all information is kept confidential between myself (the therapist) and the client and only breached upon disclosure of any risk of harm to yourself or another person. In this instance, I will endeavour to notify you first before breaching confidentiality to inform you of the course of action, however this is not always possible, particularly in high risk situations.

In best practice and according to stipulations from the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), I am required to receive clinical supervision on a regular basis. This is to ensure that I am considering all that I can with each client, in order to be as helpful as possible. This is a mandatory requirement for all counsellors registered under the BACP. Any information shared with my supervisor will be anonymised and would only be breached in high risk situations (as mentioned above).

When you start therapy with us, we recommend that you inform your GP. This is not mandatory, but we do ask you to consider this as GP's are the central point for all things health - including your emotional & mental health. In situations of risk where confidentiality must be breached, it is likely that we will be contacting your GP on your behalf.
Your Information
Therapyish adheres to all guidelines stipulated by the European General Protection Data Regulation (GDPR - 2018).
All personal data is kept strictly confidential and is not shared with third parties.

Personal data will only be shared in the circumstance of risk of harm to self or other(s). Any sharing of this kind will always be limited and measured, and done with the advice of my supervisor.
